Port Hercules sits at the centre of the Riviera, deep enough for large yachts, close enough to Nice for guests to step off an aircraft and on to a deck within the hour, and positioned so that Italy lies to the east and Saint-Tropez to the west. A charter that begins here rarely stays still for long.
Lund Group arranges private yacht charters and superyacht charters from Monaco, along with day charters for guests already on the coast, weekly charters through the Mediterranean, and bespoke itineraries written around a particular anniversary, gathering or event. The base
Yacht Charter in Monaco
Port Hercules is the only deep-water port on this stretch of coast, and that single fact shapes everything. Large yachts can lie stern-to within walking distance of the Casino, the Hôtel de Paris and the circuit, rather than at anchor offshore. Tenders run constantly, provisioning is straightforward, and crew know the harbour authorities. For a guest, it means the yacht is genuinely part of the stay rather than a day trip from it.
The second advantage is position. Cap d'Ail is a few minutes west, followed by Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, the deep sheltered bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer and the Baie des Anges at Nice. Continue and you reach Antibes, Cannes and the Lérins islands, then Saint-Tropez and the bays around Pampelonne. Turn east instead and the Italian Riviera opens up. Almost every worthwhile anchorage on the French Riviera is within a comfortable day's cruising of Monaco.
With a full week, the horizon widens. Corsica offers the Scandola reserve, the cliffs of Bonifacio and water that stays clear into October; Sardinia's Costa Smeralda and the Maddalena archipelago sit a night's passage further on. These are serious Mediterranean cruising grounds, and they are reachable from Monaco without compromising the rest of the itinerary.
Finally there is the calendar. The Grand Prix in May, the Cannes Film Festival in parallel, the Monaco Yacht Show in September: each pulls the world's fleet to this coastline and each affects what can be chartered and where a yacht can berth. Part of our job is knowing which weeks reward flexibility and which demand a decision months ahead.

No other race puts spectators this close to the cars. The circuit runs around the harbour, so a yacht berthed or moored in Port Hercules becomes a private grandstand over the swimming pool complex and the Tabac corner, with the sound of the cars arriving before they do.
A yacht also solves the weekend's hardest problem: space. Accommodation in Monaco is scarce and heavily booked during the Grand Prix, while a chartered yacht gives you somewhere to sleep, entertain, host clients and eat without leaving the harbour, and somewhere to escape to on the water when the principality is at its busiest. Many guests extend either side of the race and cruise the Riviera once the circuit reopens.
Harbour positions and yacht availability for the Grand Prix are allocated far in advance and we will never describe a berth or a yacht as held until it is contracted. What we will do is tell you honestly what remains open for your dates.

Cost
How Much Does a Yacht Charter in Monaco Cost?
Charter pricing is quoted per yacht, not per person, and the figure moves with a handful of variables: the size and type of yacht, its age and condition, the season, how long you charter for, the itinerary you have in mind, the size of the crew and the amenities carried on board. A week in August on a 50-metre motor yacht and a September week on a 30-metre sailing yacht are different propositions entirely.
Beyond the charter fee, there are costs you should expect to see quoted separately. VAT is applied according to where the charter begins and where the yacht cruises. An Advance Provisioning Allowance covers the running costs of your particular charter. Fuel, berthing at ports such as Port Hercules, and any special requests are drawn from that allowance and accounted for by the captain.

What Is Included in a Charter?
Usually within the charter fee
- A professional crew, including the captain, appropriate to the yacht.
- Accommodation on board for the duration of an overnight charter.
- Use of the yacht's interior and exterior facilities.
- Tenders, and the water toys the yacht carries as standard.
- Insurance of the yacht and the crew, and standard operating costs.
Normally billed separately
- APA — an advance fund held by the captain for running costs, reconciled at the end of the charter.
- VAT — applied according to the jurisdiction and the cruising itinerary.
- Fuel — for the yacht and tenders, driven by how far and how fast you travel.
- Marina and port fees — including berthing in Monaco and along the Riviera.
- Special requests — particular wines, chartered helicopters, additional staff, shore-side events.
Inclusions differ from yacht to yacht and are ultimately defined by the charter agreement, most commonly a MYBA-style contract. We review that document with you before signature so there are no surprises on board.
