On 13 May 1950, Formula 1's first World Championship race began here. Silverstone was an airfield before it became a circuit. Today it remains one of the fastest and most recognisable tracks in Formula 1.

Giuseppe Farina won the inaugural World Championship Grand Prix at Silverstone in 1950. That race began what became the Formula 1 World Championship — and Formula 1 has returned to this former RAF airfield ever since.

Race-week road networks change under official traffic management, so we plan on event-day conditions rather than promising a fixed journey time, and no hotel or house availability is implied.
