The island

Ibiza, From the Water

Ibiza rewards a yacht more than almost anywhere in the western Mediterranean, because the island's best hours happen at its edges. Eivissa rises behind the harbour in sandstone and white, with Marina Ibiza and Marina Botafoch a few minutes from the old town; within an hour of leaving either you can be anchored somewhere with no road to it at all.

The south and west hold most of what guests come for. Cala Jondal and Ses Salines have the coastline and the lunches that made the island's reputation; Cala Comte has the clearest water and the sunsets; Cala d'Hort looks out at Es Vedrà, the rock that ends every photograph of Ibiza ever taken. South again, across a short stretch of open water, Formentera changes the palette entirely — Illetes and Cala Saona are pale sand and shallow turquoise, and they feel a long way from anywhere.

What a private yacht gives you is the ability to hold all of that in one day without negotiating it: a secluded anchorage in the morning, a beach club at lunch, water sports through the afternoon, a sunset from the water and dinner ashore in Ibiza Town afterwards — or on board, with the island lit up behind you. Nothing needs to be decided in advance, and nothing needs to be rushed.

Lund Group arranges day charters, weekly charters and longer Balearic itineraries across Ibiza, Formentera and the wider islands, on day yachts, motor yachts, catamarans, sailing yachts and fully crewed superyachts.

Yacht anchored in turquoise water off Ses Illetes, Formentera

Two islands

Ibiza & Formentera by Yacht

The two islands are close enough to be experienced together — in a single day charter, or spread across a multi-day itinerary that lets you take each at its own pace. Most guests do both, and most say the contrast is the point.

Ibiza brings the restaurants, the harbour and the evenings. Formentera brings the beaches: Illetes and its shallow turquoise water, the sheltered western bay of Cala Saona, and the sandbanks around Espalmador between the two islands. Anchorages along the way are quiet in the morning and social by lunch, and the crossing back towards Ibiza at sunset is, for many guests, the best hour of the charter.

Ashore

Arrive by Yacht

The coastal venues that define an Ibiza summer sit on the water, and arriving from it changes the day completely: the tender takes you in for lunch, brings you back when you have had enough, and the yacht stays where the swimming is good in between.

It also gives you somewhere of your own. Guests entertain on board before going ashore, hold lunch at anchor rather than in a crowded room, come back for a swim between lunch and drinks, and change on their own terms. In practice a yacht turns a fixed reservation into a flexible day.

Venues set their own reservation and access policies and moorings are not reserved, so we arrange what we can genuinely confirm, and we say so plainly when something cannot be guaranteed.

After dark

Ibiza After Dark

A charter does not have to end when the sun goes down. The most common evening runs straight through: a sunset cruise off the west coast, dinner served on board or ashore, drinks somewhere on the south coast, and onward into the night — or back to the yacht, which is often the better decision.

The advantage is not access, it is logistics. The yacht is your base, your transport between two points on the coast, and the place you return to at four in the morning without waiting for a taxi. Guests can go ashore at different times, in different groups, and the evening stays flexible until the last minute.

Entry, reservations and guest lists are handled by the venues themselves. We arrange what can be confirmed in advance and are straightforward about what cannot.

Cost

How Much Does a Yacht Charter in Ibiza Cost?

Rates vary by yacht and dates. Request a tailored quotation.

Pricing depends on the size and type of the yacht, the season, the duration of the charter, the number of guests, the itinerary, the size and experience of the crew, and the amenities carried on board — tenders, water toys, air conditioning at anchor.

Alongside the charter fee, budget for VAT where it applies to your itinerary, the Advance Provisioning Allowance, marina and berthing costs in Ibiza and Formentera, and fuel, which varies considerably depending on how much of the day is spent under way rather than at anchor.

We publish only rates that are genuine and current for the yachts in our own fleet. Where a rate is not confirmed for your dates, we say so and quote properly rather than estimate.

What Is APA?

APA stands for Advance Provisioning Allowance — a running fund paid to the captain before you embark, commonly around a quarter to a third of the charter fee.

It covers the operational expenses of the charter as they arise: fuel, food and drink, port and berthing fees, laundry and shore-side arrangements. The captain accounts for what is spent, shares it during the charter, and returns any unused balance at the end.

The precise percentage, what falls inside it and how it is accounted for depend on the yacht and the charter contract, and we go through both with you before you sign.

Season

When Is the Best Time to Charter a Yacht in Ibiza?

The Balearic season runs from May to October. July and August are the warmest and the busiest: the island is at full pace, anchorages are social, the best yachts are committed months ahead and rates are at their highest.

June and September are, for many guests, the better months. The sea is warm, the anchorages are calmer, restaurants are easier and both availability and pricing tend to be more favourable while the island is still fully open.

May and October are the quietest and the most weather-dependent. Conditions in the Balearics can change quickly at either end of the season, and itineraries in those months are planned day by day with the captain. We do not make promises about weather or sea state — no one honestly can — but we will tell you frankly what a given week usually looks like.
