Porto Cervo
The harbour at the centre of the Costa Smeralda. Berths in high summer are limited and allocated by the marina, so many yachts anchor nearby and bring guests ashore by tender.
La Maddalena Archipelago
A protected national park of islands north of the coast — Spargi, Budelli, Razzoli, Santa Maria and Caprera. Park rules govern where yachts may anchor and navigate; the captain plans around them.
Cala di Volpe
A wide, sheltered bay south of Porto Cervo, popular for a calm night at anchor and an easy tender ride ashore.
Porto Rotondo
A smaller, quieter harbour on the Gulf of Cugnana, often used for embarkation and as an alternative to Porto Cervo.
Poltu Quatu
A narrow natural inlet north of Porto Cervo, with a sheltered marina and quick access to the Maddalena islands.

One day on the water
Morning
Embark in Porto Cervo or Porto Rotondo and cruise north towards the Maddalena islands with breakfast on deck.
Late morning
Swim stops in the clear channels around Spargi or Caprera, where park rules allow, with water toys where available.
Lunch
Lunch at anchor on board, or by tender to a restaurant ashore, requested in advance.
Afternoon
A slow return along the Costa Smeralda, a quiet anchorage at Cala di Volpe, and the harbour at golden hour.

Two islands, one narrow strait
Corsica connection
The Strait of Bonifacio is only a short crossing, so a week can take in Bonifacio, the Lavezzi islands and Porto-Vecchio.
Southern Sardinia
Cagliari, Villasimius and the south coast offer a quieter, less social Sardinia, ideal for longer or early-season charters.
Ports & embarkation
Porto Cervo, Porto Rotondo, Poltu Quatu and Olbia are the usual northern bases. Berths are confirmed by each marina.

Understanding your charter budget
The charter fee covers the yacht and crew. On top of it you should expect VAT where it applies, an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) for fuel, food, drink and port fees, possible delivery fees if the yacht comes from another port, and a customary crew gratuity at your discretion. We set out every element before you sign.
Timing & travel
When to go and how to get there
The season runs from about May to early October. July and August are the busiest on the Costa Smeralda; June and September are often calmer, with warm water and more choice. The Mistral can shape plans on some days, and the captain adjusts the route.
Olbia Costa Smeralda is the main airport for the north-east and handles private aircraft; Cagliari and Alghero serve the south and west. We arrange private jets, including Milan to Sardinia, helicopter transfers and chauffeured cars to the quay.
