Held each September on the Lido di Venezia and organised by La Biennale di Venezia, the Venice International Film Festival is one of the oldest and most significant film festivals in the world. Producers, financiers, brands, executives and private travellers arrive from Europe, the Gulf and North America for a compressed period of screenings, meetings and evenings.
Venice is unlike any other festival city. There are no cars, the venues sit on an island across the lagoon, and almost every movement happens by water. During the festival, boats, suites and staff are committed early, and a schedule that works on paper can fall apart without someone coordinating the water legs.

The Lido & the City
The festival takes place on the Lido di Venezia, the long barrier island facing the city across the lagoon. Some clients prefer to stay on the Lido, minutes from the venues; others keep a base in the historic centre and cross by private boat.
Both work. Which suits you depends on your schedule, your party and how many evenings run late — we advise on the trade-offs before anything is booked.
Programme, screening times, tickets and accreditation are issued by La Biennale di Venezia.

Where it is operationally appropriate, a helicopter shortens the journey between Venice and the mountains, the lakes or another Italian city.

Helicopter movements depend on weather, aircraft and operator availability, airspace, landing permissions and applicable regulations. Venice itself is heavily restricted, so we advise honestly on whether a helicopter is the right leg or whether a water transfer serves you better.

Venice is a car-free city. Chauffeured cars serve mainland arrivals, Lido movements and onward journeys to Milan, the Dolomites and the lakes, with the water legs handled by private boat.
