Croatia's Dalmatian coast has more than a thousand islands within a narrow, sheltered strip of the Adriatic. Passages are short, the water is exceptionally clear, and the historic towns of Dubrovnik, Split, Hvar and Korčula sit directly on the water, most of them within a morning of each other.

The Croatian season runs from roughly May to early October, with July and August the busiest. June and September are quieter and easier for berths in Dubrovnik, Split and Hvar, which are limited in high summer.
