Capri sits at the southern edge of the Bay of Naples, a limestone island rising steeply from deep water. Its harbour, Marina Grande, is small; most yachts spend the day at anchor off the Faraglioni rocks or along the quieter southern shore and use the tender to go ashore.
Guests charter here for the Faraglioni rocks and the grottoes, tender trips ashore to Capri town and Anacapri, swimming in deep, clear water and easy passages to Sorrento, Positano and Ischia. A day at Capri typically means a morning at anchor on the sheltered side of the island, lunch on board, a tender run into Marina Grande for the funicular up to town, and a late afternoon swim before moving on. Anchoring and traffic are regulated around the marine protected areas.
Capri is normally combined with the Amalfi Coast to the south-east and Ischia and Procida to the north-west. Longer itineraries continue to the Aeolian islands and Sicily, or north along the Italian coast.
