Yacht Photography & Sales Presentation

Presentation is how a yacht is judged before anyone steps aboard: accurate photography of every space, a clear specification, honest video, and a document pack that answers the obvious questions without a phone call.

Photography, video, specification and the material that carries a yacht to a buyer.

Photography

A proper set covers exterior profiles under way and at anchor, every guest cabin, the saloon and dining areas, the bridge, the beach club and deck spaces, the tender garage, the crew areas and the engine room. Shot in good natural light, with the yacht dressed, cleaned and decluttered. Wide-angle distortion that misrepresents volume helps nobody — the buyer sees the truth at the viewing.

Video and walkthroughs

A single honest walkthrough is worth more than a stylised film. Buyers use video to eliminate yachts, which saves everyone time; a video that flatters a yacht simply moves the disappointment to the viewing.

Specification

A full specification should state dimensions, build and refit years, builder and naval architect, machinery and hours, tankage and range, guest and crew accommodation, tenders and toys, audiovisual and navigation equipment, flag, class and commercial status. Errors in a specification undermine confidence in everything else.

The document pack

Registration, class and flag status, VAT position, maintenance summary, refit history, inventory and layout drawings. Making this available under a sensible confidentiality arrangement shortens due diligence considerably.

Confidentiality

Some owners do not want the yacht, her name or her imagery circulating. That is entirely workable: yachts are regularly presented with limited detail to a screened audience, with full material released only to qualified buyers.

Questions

Can a yacht be marketed without naming her?
Yes. Discreet presentations with limited identifying detail are common practice.
How often should imagery be refreshed?
After any significant refit, and whenever the current set no longer represents the yacht accurately.

This guide is general information about how the yacht market conventionally works. It is not legal, tax or financial advice, and it does not describe the terms of any specific yacht. Rates, prices, availability and access are confirmed in writing before anything is committed.
