Yacht Charter Dubrovnik

Seeing the walls and the Lovrijenac fortress from the sea is one of the Adriatic's great arrivals. Guests usually go ashore by tender or a short car transfer from the yacht's berth, so they can walk the walls early before the crowds, or dine in the Old Town and return to the yacht by night.

On busy summer days, cruise-ship traffic can affect timing, and the crew plans Old Town visits around it.

Day charters are quoted separately. A day rate is not a weekly rate divided by seven, and fuel, crew and delivery costs weigh more heavily on a single day. Many larger superyachts accept only weekly bookings in high season, or day charters at their own discretion.

For an Elaphiti day, Cavtat or a sunset cruise, smaller local motor yachts or speedboats with a captain are often the better fit. We can source these privately on request, even when none appear below.

Korčula Town, with its walled old town and Pelješac wine coast opposite, makes a natural turning point for a week from Dubrovnik. A typical week runs Dubrovnik, Elaphiti, Mljet, Korčula and back, with time ashore rather than long passages.

Continuing north to Hvar and Split works well as a one-way charter, but it is a substantial distance, not a short hop, and suits faster yachts or a full week. One-way routes and any delivery fee are confirmed per yacht.

The paperwork sits with the yacht and its agent; here is what it means for guests.

• Crew and guest lists are registered by the yacht or its charter agent, including the Croatian e-Crew list. Guests simply supply passport details in advance.
• Guests are registered for tourist purposes, and the Croatian tourist tax applies. Your details are used only for these legal requirements.
• Croatian VAT applies to charters in Croatian waters, and the rate depends on the charter structure and route. It is shown separately on the quote.
• Foreign-flag yachts need the right Croatian permissions to charter commercially. Since 16 July 2026, additional limits affect some non-EU-flag yachts under 24m and gulet-type yachts. Whether they apply depends on each yacht's flag, commercial structure, authorisation and type, so we verify every yacht before contract rather than apply a blanket rule.

Southern Dalmatia suits most yacht types; the right choice depends on pace and route.

• Sailing yachts and catamarans suit the sheltered islands and relaxed island-hopping. Catamarans are popular with families for their space and stability.
• Motor yachts and superyachts make Korčula, Mljet and Montenegro easy in a week, and add tenders and water toys.
• The traditional Croatian gulet offers wooden-boat character and generous deck space at a different pace.
• For families: ask about stabilisers, tender size, shallow swimming bays and water toys. Toy use may be limited in protected areas such as Mljet. Accessibility varies widely by yacht, so tell us your needs early.

Dubrovnik Airport at Čilipi lies south-east of the city, near Cavtat. The transfer to Gruž or ACI Marina is usually around half an hour to an hour by car, depending on traffic and season. Private and business aircraft are subject to slots, handling and any prior-permission requirements on your dates.
