Farnborough Airport — Private Jet Guide
London's dedicated business-aviation gateway to the south-west.
Farnborough is not simply an airport that accepts private jets. Private aviation is the airport's core purpose.
LUND GROUP arranges aircraft and transfers; it does not own or operate Farnborough Airport.

Overview
Built Around Private Aviation
Farnborough is a dedicated business-aviation airport built around private aircraft rather than scheduled airline traffic, offering an integrated airport/FBO operation, substantial hangar and ramp infrastructure, on-site border processing and direct road or helicopter connectivity into London.
Farnborough has been a fully compliant CAA business-aviation airport since 2003. Unlike Luton, Stansted or Heathrow, it does not share its runway and terminal with scheduled airlines.
For choosing between all London gateways, see private jets to London.
Opening hours
A Finite Operating Day
Farnborough offers an exceptional private-aviation environment, but its operating day is finite. It is not open 24 hours. For late-night or very early movements, we may recommend Luton instead.

Runway
Runway 06/24: Pavement vs Declared Distances
Runway length can mean different things operationally. LUND separates physical pavement from takeoff run, accelerate-stop and landing distances.
| Runway | TORA | TODA | ASDA | LDA |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 06 | 2,000 m / 6,562 ft | 2,060 m / 6,758 ft | 2,590 m / 8,497 ft | 1,800 m / 5,905 ft |
| 24 | 2,063 m / 6,768 ft | 2,123 m / 6,965 ft | 2,440 m / 8,005 ft | 1,800 m / 5,905 ft |
The airport states 2,608 m of total concrete including the starter strip, 45 m wide. Declared distances (TORA, TODA, ASDA, LDA) are what operators calculate against. The often-quoted 8,005 ft is runway 24's accelerate-stop distance, not the physical runway length. Source: Farnborough Airport, 2026-10-07.

CAA Category 6, with Category 7 on remission according to operational conditions.
Compare
Farnborough vs Luton, Biggin Hill, London City and Stansted
| Airport | Codes | Often suits | Consider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Farnborough | FAB / EGLF | Dedicated business aviation, west and south-west London, Surrey, Hampshire, Goodwood. | Finite operating day; no late-night or very early movements. |
| London Luton | LTN / EGGW | North London, wide aircraft range and a longer operating window. | Shared with scheduled airline traffic. |
| London Biggin Hill | BQH / EGKB | South-east London, the City and Canary Wharf by road. | Operating hours and aircraft suitability are confirmed per flight. |
| London City | LCY / EGLC | Closest to the City and Canary Wharf. | Steep approach; aircraft and crew approvals restrict which jets can use it. |
| London Stansted | STN / EGSS | North-east London, Cambridge, larger aircraft. | Shared with scheduled airline traffic; longer drive to west London. |
General guidance only. The right airport depends on your aircraft, timing and final destination. We compare per trip.
