Overview

What Is the Cessna Citation Latitude?

The Citation Latitude is the proven midsize choice: less maximum range than the Praetor 500E, but backed by a 500-aircraft production milestone, mature charter adoption and an unusually practical cabin and baggage combination.

It is a current Textron Aviation product, not a legacy Citation, and not replaced by the Citation Ascend, which sits in a different part of the midsize range.

A stand-up flat-floor cabin does not automatically make an aircraft Super Midsize. Textron classifies the Latitude as midsize, and so do we.

Right-sizing

Latitude, Ascend, Praetor 500E or Longitude?

Citation Latitude

The everyday midsize: flat-floor cabin, baggage and a deep fleet.

Citation Ascend

A different midsize step in the XLS lineage; not the Latitude's replacement.

Praetor 500E

Pushes midsize range farther; first deliveries pending.

Up to the Citation Longitude

A super midsize with more range and cabin; the Latitude is not a smaller Longitude.

Range

What Does the Published Range Actually Mean?

Published maximum: 2,700 nm source.

The published figure

Cessna publishes about 2,700 nm. It is a maximum under stated conditions, not a promise for every flight.

US coast to coast

Many transcontinental pairs are within reach; winds and payload are calculated per flight.

Europe and the Middle East

Most intra-European sectors and many regional routes; confirmed per flight.

Not transatlantic

For ocean crossings we compare super midsize or larger aircraft.

Range illustration

Where a Citation Latitude Can Reach

Indicative only. Each flight is calculated by the operator.

Within Europe

Comfortably within range.

US coast to coast

A typical mission; confirmed per flight.

Gulf regional

Within range for many city pairs.

Transatlantic

Not a Latitude mission; we compare larger aircraft.

Cabin

Six-Foot Flat-Floor Cabin and Baggage

A six-foot-tall, flat-floor midsize cabin with substantial baggage. A stand-up flat-floor cabin does not automatically make an aircraft Super Midsize. Actual seating, sleeping and layout depend on the individual aircraft.

Six-foot flat floor

A stand-up, flat-floor cabin, very practical for a midsize jet.

Occupants

Up to nine occupants depending on layout; passenger seating confirmed per aircraft.

Baggage

Substantial baggage for the class. Real capacity depends on bag shapes, skis and golf bags; confirmed per flight.

Family travel

Room to move, store bags and travel with children on regional and coast-to-coast trips.

Connectivity

Systems, coverage and data allowances vary; confirmed per aircraft.

Engineering

Mature Platform, Corporate and Family Use

Mature platform

Hundreds of aircraft in service and a broad support network.

Corporate use

A natural fit for executive shuttles and roadshows; see corporate aviation.

Engines

Twin engines. Engine type confirmed with the operator for each aircraft.

Airports

Airports and Runways

Airport suitability is calculated per flight by the operator for weight, temperature and elevation.

Short-field performance

Good short-runway performance for its class. Each airport is calculated per flight.

Monaco and the Riviera

Nice is the usual gateway, with helicopter or car transfer.

Hot, high or short runways

These can restrict take-off weight and range; confirmed per flight.

Approvals

Some airports need specific aircraft, operator or crew approvals; confirmed per flight.
