Overview
What Is the Bombardier Challenger 3500?
The Challenger 3500 is a proven, current-generation super midsize jet with a highly usable cabin and a mature operating fleet.
The Challenger 3500 does not win by maximizing one specification. It wins by combining range, cabin, baggage and fleet maturity in one highly usable Super Midsize platform.
As with any model, the individual aircraft matters more than the name. Layout, connectivity and operator differ between aircraft, and we confirm the actual aircraft against your route, passengers, luggage and airports.
Status
Current Production and Mature Fleet
In service is not the same as available for charter on your date. We check live inventory for every request.
September 2022
The first Challenger 3500 enters service.
October 2024
Bombardier announces the 100th Challenger 3500 delivery.
27 July 2026
Bombardier delivers the 200th Challenger 3500, to Piero Ferrari, Vice Chairman of Ferrari, less than four years after entry into service. Bombardier states that since 2023 it has outdelivered every other business-jet model in the medium and heavy categories.
Right-sizing
Challenger 350 or Challenger 3500?
Challenger 350
The previous generation, still widely flown in charter fleets. Similar airframe and range class; older cabin.
Challenger 3500
The current generation: Nuage seating, updated cabin technology and voice-controlled cabin functions.
Which to charter
Either can suit the same mission. The 3500 brings the newer cabin; a 350 may widen availability on your date.
When to step up
For longer nonstop sectors or a larger cabin, a Challenger 650 or a long-range jet such as the Global 6500 may be needed.
Range
What Does the Published Range Actually Mean?
Published maximum: Confirmed per aircraft.
The published figure
Bombardier publishes 3,400 nm maximum range. It is a maximum under stated conditions, not a promise for every flight.
Transcontinental
Coast-to-coast US and long intra-European sectors are the natural use.
Selected transatlantic
Some transatlantic city pairs are possible nonstop; it is never assumed. Winds, payload and season are calculated per flight.
Payload and airports
More passengers, luggage or a short, hot or high runway reduce the margin on longer sectors.

Wide flat-floor cabin with Nuage seating. Actual seating, sleeping and layout depend on the individual aircraft.
Wide flat floor
A wide, flat-floor super midsize cabin.

Typically 9 seats standard and up to 10 maximum. Confirmed per aircraft.
Nuage seating
Bombardier's Nuage seats, where installed. Confirmed per aircraft.
Voice-controlled cabin
Voice control for selected cabin functions, where fitted.

Not assumed. Approvals are aircraft and operator specific; confirmed per flight.
Monaco and the Riviera
Nice is the usual gateway, with helicopter or car transfer.
Short, hot or high runways
These can restrict take-off weight and range. Confirmed per flight.
