Overview
What Is the Bombardier Global 6500?
The Global 6500 is the intercontinental sweet spot in Bombardier's current Global family: 6,600 nautical miles of published range, three distinct cabin zones and a mature large-cabin platform, without automatically moving into Global 8000 territory.
Charter the range the journey needs, not the largest Global available. The 6500 is chosen when a trip needs true intercontinental range, large-cabin comfort, substantial baggage and rest, but not 8,000 nm, four zones or flagship speed.
As with any model, the individual aircraft matters more than the name. Layout, connectivity, age and operator differ between aircraft, and we confirm the actual aircraft against your route, passengers, luggage and airports.
Status
Current Production and Active Charter Market
In service is not the same as available for charter on your date. We check live inventory for every request.
2019
The Global 6500 enters service as part of Bombardier's updated Global 5500 / 6500 platform.
Today
It remains in Bombardier's current Global family alongside the Global 5500 and Global 8000. It is not discontinued or replaced.
Charter market
Active, with a mature fleet. Availability on your date is always checked live.
Right-sizing
Global 6500, 5500 or 8000?
Choose the Global 6500 when
The mission is intercontinental but within its range, three zones are enough, and a wider choice of mature aircraft helps on your date.
Move up to the Global 8000 when
You need 8,000 nm nonstop, four living areas or maximum speed, and accept a smaller, rarer charter fleet.
Consider the Global 5500 when
The route is shorter and the same family cabin feel is wanted with less range.
Not a smaller Global 8000
The 6500 solves a different mission: right-sized range and cabin, often with more aircraft to choose from.
Range
What Does the Published Range Actually Mean?
Published maximum: 6,600 nm source.
The published figure
Bombardier publishes 6,600 nm. It is a maximum under stated conditions, not a promise for every flight.
Winds and season
Westbound winter headwinds reduce what is possible nonstop. The operator plans each flight.
Payload
More passengers and luggage reduce the margin on the longest sectors.
Airports
Short, hot or high runways can limit take-off weight and therefore fuel.

Where a Global 6500 Can Reach
Europe ↔ US East Coast
A core Global 6500 mission. Westbound winter sectors are checked per flight.
Gulf ↔ Europe
Comfortably within range for most city pairs.
Europe ↔ Gulf ↔ Asia
Many sectors are possible nonstop; the longest are confirmed per flight.
Longest city pairs
Some ultra-long sectors need a Global 7500 or 8000, or a technical stop. We tell you which.
Cabin
Cabin Zones, Sleeping, Baggage and Workspace
Three cabin zones. Actual seating, sleeping and layout depend on the individual aircraft.
Three cabin zones
Typically a club area, a dining or conference zone and an aft stateroom or lounge. Layout varies by aircraft.
Sleeping
Divans and seats can convert to berths. Berth count is lower than seat count; confirmed per aircraft.
Passengers
Certified and comfortable seating differ. On overnight flights we plan fewer passengers than seats.
Baggage
Accessible in flight. Real capacity depends on bag shapes, skis and golf bags; confirmed per flight.
Workspace
Conference seating suits corporate travel. Configuration confirmed per aircraft.
Crew rest
Long sectors may need crew rest; its presence is confirmed per aircraft.
Connectivity
Systems, coverage and data allowances vary. We confirm the installed system for your route.
Shower
Not standard. Confirmed per aircraft if important to you.
Engineering
Wing, Flight Deck and Engines
Engines
Rolls-Royce Pearl 15 engines.
Flight deck
Bombardier Vision flight deck; head-up and enhanced vision fit depends on aircraft.
Mature platform
A proven large-cabin platform with continuing manufacturer support.
Airports
London City, Monaco and Short Runways
Airport flexibility
The 6500 has strong airport performance for its size, but whether a specific airport works is calculated per flight.
London City
Not assumed. Steep-approach approvals are aircraft and operator specific; confirmed per flight.
Monaco and the Riviera
Nice is the usual gateway, with helicopter or car transfer.
Short, hot or high runways
These can restrict take-off weight and range. Confirmed per flight.
Missions
Global 6500 Route Use Cases
London → New York
A core intercontinental mission. Winter westbound winds are confirmed per flight.
Athens and the islands
Athens as an intercontinental arrival point before island connections.
