In the Mediterranean, most charters are booked by the week. In Miami, many clients charter by the day or by the hour for an occasion — a lunch, a sunset, an event week — while others use Miami as the departure point for a multi-day voyage.

Biscayne Bay is the heart of a Miami charter: calm, shallow inshore water between the mainland and the barrier islands, with views of the downtown skyline, the islands of the bay and the Miami Beach waterfront.
Depth matters here. Some areas of the bay are shallow, so the captain plans routes and anchoring around each yacht's draft. Larger yachts may cruise mainly in the deeper channels and use tenders closer to shore.

Key Biscayne lies south of downtown Miami and is a popular destination for a relaxed day on the water, with protected areas nearby and a quieter atmosphere than the city waterfront. Anchoring and swimming locations are confirmed by the captain on the day.

Fisher Island and the Miami Waterfront
Cruising past Fisher Island, the port area and the downtown skyline is part of many Miami charters. Fisher Island is a private community; access ashore is not part of a charter unless separately arranged by an invited guest. How Charter Rules Work in the United States
Charter in US waters is regulated. Whether a yacht can carry paying guests, and how many, depends on its flag, its certification and how the charter is structured. This is why some large yachts are limited to a small number of guests for local charters while others are certified for more.
Lund Group only proposes yachts that are presented by their operators as eligible for the type of charter requested. Final eligibility, guest limits and documentation are confirmed with the yacht's operator before contract. This page is general information, not legal advice.

Visiting for Formula 1?
During the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix weekend, demand for yachts in Miami rises sharply. A yacht can serve as a private base for hosting before and after the racing. Lund Group is independent and not affiliated with Formula 1 or the event organisers; yachts do not include race access unless separately arranged.

Across the Gulf Stream
Miami to the Bahamas and Bimini by Yacht
Bimini is the closest Bahamian island to Miami, which makes Miami a natural starting point for a Bahamas charter. Longer itineraries continue towards Nassau and the Exumas.
The Gulf Stream crossing depends on weather and sea state, so departure timing is decided by the captain. Entering the Bahamas requires customs and immigration clearance, and returning to the US requires clearance again; the yacht must also be permitted to charter in Bahamian waters. All of this is confirmed before you book.

Miami to the Florida Keys
South of Miami, the Florida Keys offer clear water, reefs and a relaxed island chain stretching towards Key West. A multi-day itinerary from Miami can include Key Largo and the upper and middle Keys, with routes planned around draft, weather and marina availability.

What affects the rate
Miami Yacht Charter Pricing
There is no single price for a Miami yacht charter. Day charters are usually quoted for a set number of hours; multi-day charters are quoted per day or per week. Rates depend on the yacht's size and age, the season, event weeks, duration, guest numbers and positioning.
Taxes, gratuity, fuel, catering and dockage may be included or added depending on the yacht and charter type. We set out exactly what is and is not included in every proposal.
Running costs
APA on Multi-Day Charters
For longer charters, an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is often held for running costs such as fuel, food, drinks, dockage and fees. It is accounted for during the charter and any unused balance is returned. Day charters usually work differently and are quoted with clear inclusions.
