Overview
What Can a G650ER Actually Do?
The Gulfstream G650ER is no longer a current-production Gulfstream, but it remains one of the most important ultra-long-range aircraft in the active charter market. It entered service in 2014 as the extended-range version of the G650, and many operators worldwide still fly it on intercontinental routes.
Every G650ER is different. Seating, sleeping layout, Wi-Fi, age, refurbishment and operator vary. We confirm the actual aircraft against your route, passengers, luggage and airports before you commit.
Range
What Does 7,500 nm Actually Mean?
The published figure
Gulfstream publishes 7,500 nm with 8 passengers and standard reserves. It is a maximum, not a promise.
Winds and season
Westbound winter headwinds can reduce what is possible nonstop. The operator plans each flight.
Payload
More passengers and luggage reduce the margin on the longest sectors.
Airports
Short, hot or high runways can limit take-off weight and therefore fuel.
Production status
Out of Production, Still in Demand
Still produced?
No. Gulfstream ended G650ER production; the G800 is its successor in the line-up.
Has the G800 replaced it?
In production, yes. In charter, the G650ER remains far more widely available than the G800.
G650 vs G650ER
The ER is the extended-range version of the G650, with more fuel capacity. Cabins are similar; confirm the exact model when quoting.
Support
Gulfstream continues to support the fleet. Maintenance status is confirmed per aircraft.
Cabin
Cabin, Shower, Sleeping, Baggage and Wi-Fi
Cabin dimensions
A wide-cabin Gulfstream. Exact usable dimensions depend on the installed interior; confirmed per aircraft.
Passengers
Up to 19 seats is a certified maximum. For overnight flights we usually plan far fewer so everyone can rest.
Sleeping positions
Divans and seats can convert to berths. The berth count is lower than the seat count; confirmed per aircraft.
Bedroom / stateroom
Some aircraft have an aft stateroom or a private area; many do not. Confirmed per aircraft.
Baggage
The baggage compartment is accessible in flight. Real capacity depends on bag shapes, skis and golf bags; confirmed per flight.
Galley
Galley equipment varies. Catering is arranged per flight.
Crew rest
Long sectors may need augmented crew and a crew rest area; confirmed per aircraft.
Wi-Fi
Not every G650ER has the same system, and some have limited coverage. We confirm the installed system for your route.
Same interior?
No. Interiors differ by owner and refurbishment. We send photos of the specific aircraft.
Engineering
Engines, Flight Deck and Windows
Engines
Two Rolls-Royce BR725 engines.
Flight deck
Gulfstream's PlaneView flight deck, with enhanced vision options depending on aircraft.
Panoramic windows
Gulfstream's large oval windows, a recognisable feature of the cabin.
Missions
G650ER Route Use Cases
London → New York
Comfortably within range in most conditions, leaving margin for passengers and luggage.
Dubai → New York
A long sector that can be planned nonstop; payload and season confirmed per flight.
Destination pageAsia → Europe
Overflight permissions and crew duty matter as much as range.
Hot-weather airports
Summer heat can reduce take-off weight. The operator calculates this per flight.
