Open-air gym

Equipment set out on a shaded deck for training in the sea air.

Sea-level gym

Close to the beach club, opening onto the water.

Wellness deck

A gym combined with spa, steam and treatment rooms.

Owner's gym

A private gym linked to the main suite on some larger yachts.

Fitness area

A smaller but dedicated space with a set range of equipment.

Why charter a yacht with a gym?

Keep your routine

Train every day without leaving the yacht or looking for a gym ashore.

Wellness trips

Pair training with spa, healthy menus and early swims.

Families and groups

Space for teenagers and adults to stay active between water sports.

Long charters

On two weeks or more, a gym makes a real difference.

Training at sea

Morning sessions with open views, then a swim straight off the stern.

Gym, spa and pool

On larger yachts the gym sits beside a spa, pool or beach club for a full wellness day.

Recovery

Pair strength work with massage, sauna or cold plunge where the yacht has them verified.

Privacy

Train away from crowded hotel gyms, on your own schedule.

Planning a fitness-focused charter

Equipment list

We ask the yacht to confirm machines and weights before you book.

Personal trainer

Some yachts have a trainer in the crew; others welcome a visiting coach. Quoted separately.

Classes

Yoga, Pilates or boxing sessions on deck can be arranged with the crew.

Diet

The chef can plan menus around your training and nutrition.

What does it cost to charter a yacht with a gym?

A published rate is never the total cost. Each yacht is quoted in writing for your dates.

Charter fee

The published weekly rate covers the yacht and crew. The gym is part of the yacht.

APA

Usually 25–40% of the fee, covering fuel, food, drinks, berthing and other running costs.

VAT and taxes

Depend on where the charter starts and cruises.

Crew gratuity

Discretionary, often 5–15% of the charter fee.

Trainers and classes

Visiting coaches, instructors and their travel are quoted separately.

Extras

Spa treatments and special equipment are quoted separately.

Where to charter a yacht with a gym

Mediterranean

Early morning training before the heat, then swims and coastal hikes ashore.

Caribbean

Air-conditioned gyms are valued in the tropical heat; sea swims and paddle boarding round out the day.

Active itineraries

Combine the gym with hiking, cycling ashore and water sports.

Regional notes, not claims about where any listed yacht is today.

By size and type

50–60m yachts

Where larger deck amenities start to appear.

60–80m yachts

More decks, more space and more wellness options.

80m+ yachts

Mega yachts with the widest choice of amenities.

How to choose the right yacht

  • Decide whether you need a full gym or a smaller fitness area.
  • Ask for the equipment list and room size.
  • Check air conditioning and views if you train indoors.
  • Ask whether a trainer is in the crew or needs to be brought on board.
  • Think about the spa, pool or beach club you want alongside.
  • Match guest numbers to the yacht's licence, not to its gym.
  • Ask how many guests can train at once.
  • Check whether weights are secured for use underway.
  • Ask whether the gym can be used at anchor at night without disturbing guests.
