Europe counts include only published sale listings whose Europe location was verified within the last 90 days, or whose Europe viewing is confirmed or on request. A median asking price is shown only with at least three priced Europe listings in one currency; currencies are never combined. We do not publish Europe transaction volumes, average prices or days on market without a documented dataset.
Method
How we define Europe
A yacht is counted here only when its current sale or viewing location is verified in a European location — Monaco, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Croatia or the Netherlands, including their regions and ports. Montenegro and Malta join when published.
Turkey is treated as an adjacent Mediterranean market with its own page, and Cyprus is not counted in Europe. This rule is applied consistently and is never based on builder nationality, flag, owner, broker office, EU membership or charter area.
Discovery
Search by country
Each European country page holds its own verified listings, local viewing logistics and guidance. This hub summarises the region and links you to the right country for detail.

Market
The European yacht market
Europe hosts one of the world's deepest pools of superyachts, shipyards, refit capability, brokers and crew. Many yachts are based in the Mediterranean in summer and move to the Caribbean or remain in Europe in winter.
We publish only verified listing data; we do not publish European transaction volumes or average prices without a documented dataset.
Geography
Mediterranean and Northern Europe
The Mediterranean coast — from the Balearics to the Côte d'Azur, the Italian Riviera, the Adriatic and the Aegean — is where most European sale yachts are seen and trialled. Northern Europe, led by the Netherlands, is central to building, refit and survey work.
Shipyards
European shipyards and new builds
Italy, the Netherlands and other European countries are home to many of the world's leading superyacht builders. A new build offers full customisation with long lead times; a pre-owned yacht offers immediate use and a known history. Build slots are presented only when a yard or its agent confirms them.
Viewings
Viewings and seasonal timing
Spring and autumn are often practical for viewings before or after the charter season. We verify the location, confirm access with the seller's agent, and arrange discreet viewings, sometimes across several countries in one trip.
Diligence
Sea trials, surveys and due diligence
After agreement in principle, a sea trial and an independent pre-purchase survey — hull, machinery, systems and documentation — are arranged with surveyors chosen for the buyer. Title, encumbrances, class, flag and maintenance records are confirmed from documents.
Advisory
Buyer representation
Lund Group represents the buyer, coordinating with the seller's central agent, lawyers, surveyors and escrow providers from memorandum of agreement to closing.
Discretion
Private-market sourcing
Not every European yacht is publicly listed. On a private brief we approach the market discreetly and present an opportunity only when the seller or an authorised representative confirms it.
Caution
VAT, customs and the EU
Being located in Europe, or in EU waters, does not establish a yacht's VAT or customs status. Monaco is not an EU member, and rules for private use, charter and import differ by yacht, flag and owner.
These questions are answered by independent tax and legal advisors, from documents. Lund Group does not give tax advice.
Structure
Flag and registry
Flag and registry are independent of where a yacht lies; any change is planned with advisors as part of the transaction.
Events
Yacht shows in Europe
The Monaco Yacht Show and other European shows bring yachts, builders and brokers together. A yacht displayed at a show is not necessarily for sale. Dates and exhibitors are confirmed with each organiser.
Logistics
Private aviation for viewings
Lund Group can arrange private flights to Nice, Geneva, Milan, Paris, London, Ibiza and other European airports, with chauffeured transfers to marinas and yards.
Process
How a European purchase works with Lund Group
Define the brief, search the market, verify location and documentation, view and compare, negotiate, sea trial and survey, close, then hand over with crew, insurance and first-season planning.
Owners
Selling a yacht in Europe
Owners with a yacht in Europe can brief us for a discreet market review. We never publish a berth or owner details without consent.
Questions
Buying a yacht in Europe — FAQ
Which countries are included?
Monaco, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Croatia and the Netherlands, including their regions and ports. Montenegro and Malta join when published.
Is Turkey included?
No. Turkey is treated as an adjacent Mediterranean market with its own page.
Is Cyprus included?
No. Cyprus is not counted in Europe on this site, regardless of EU membership.
Is a Dutch- or Italian-built yacht listed here?
Only if its verified current location is in Europe. Builder nationality never qualifies a yacht.
Why might there be no yachts listed?
Only yachts with a European location verified within the last 90 days, or a confirmed European viewing, are shown.
How is this different from the Mediterranean page?
The Mediterranean page is defined by the sea, including Turkey; this page is defined by the continent, including Northern Europe.
Do you publish exact berths?
No. A port is shown only where the seller agrees it may be public.
Does a European location mean a yacht is VAT paid?
No. VAT status is confirmed from documents with independent advisors.
Can I view several yachts in different countries?
Yes. We can plan a multi-country viewing trip with private flights.
When is the best time to view?
Often spring or autumn, outside the peak charter season, subject to each owner's schedule.
Can you arrange a survey in Europe?
Yes, with independent surveyors chosen for the buyer and haul-out at a suitable yard.
Can I commission a new build in Europe?
Yes. We approach yards and present build slots only when confirmed.
Can you find off-market yachts?
We search discreetly and present opportunities only when the seller or their representative confirms them.
Do you work with the seller's broker?
Yes. We coordinate with the central agent while representing the buyer.
Can I sell my yacht through Lund Group?
Yes. Brief us for a confidential market review.
Is Lund Group affiliated with any shipyard or show?

How quickly will you reply?
Usually within one working day.

Listings, asking terms, location and viewing availability are subject to verification and may change without notice. A yacht is counted in Europe only from its verified current or viewing location — never from builder, flag, owner, broker office, charter area or EU membership. Turkey is treated as an adjacent market and Cyprus is not included in European counts. Location does not determine VAT, customs, flag or registry status. Exact berths are not published. Lund Group does not provide legal or tax advice; take independent professional advice. Lund Group is independent and not affiliated with any shipyard, marina, port authority or yacht show.
